Secret garden workshop
An enthusiastic group of forty Year 2 children from Writtle Infants School came to Writtle College for the morning of the 11th May. The children had been doing a project on ‘Secret Gardens’ and wanted to come and explore our tropical glasshouses and learn about the Chelsea Flower show. Imogen Collins, Creative Outreach Facilitator and Steve Terry, Co-Manager of CADE worked together along with Lesley Bishop to create a fast-paced, hands-on workshop.
The children had to identify lots of tropical plants using a treasure hunt style activity. Both Year 2 classes had a very enjoyable morning and absorbed lots of new plant knowledge, ready to take back to their school and build their own secret gardens, inspired by their day.
