Pupils from Brentwood County High School and Castle View School, Canvey Island visited the College for a Mosaic Workshop as part of our Groundbreakers Schools Liaison programme. They worked with artist in residence Anne Schwegmann-Fielding who had been working with plant scientist Andy Boorman. After foraging for leaves in the grounds pupils learned how to transform hand drawn images of individual leaves into large mosaic panels. The unusual location for the workshop, adjacent to the College’s hot glasshouse was an inspiring backdrop to their work. The finished mosaic panels have been on display in the College Gallery space and will eventually take pride of place at the schools.
