The exhibition ran from 6-10 June 2006 and celebrated the completion of an artist residency by Anne Schwegmann-Fielding. Held in the gallery space at Writtle College the exhibition included a wide range of pieces created during the residency, images of activities and a time lapse digital projection of the seasonal changes in the Mosaic Meadow.
A Leverhulme Trust grant enabled artist Anne Schwegmann-Fielding to further develop her artistic practice, while working within the environment of Writtle College. Anne collaborated with Andy Boorman, Senior Lecturer in Landscape Management, on the 'Landscape of Mosaic' project. They explored the differences and similarities between art and landscape processes rather than focussing on scientific or artistic outcomes. By exploring dual processes the concept and development of the Mosaic Meadow evolved. This meadow was an innovative combination of scientific plot allocation and mosaic style planting using natural and novel materials. Diverse objects including paper, glass, ceramics, computer equipment, and metal objects, were collected from College departments and the artist's studio for incorporation in the meadow.
